At the front, Dura-Ace offers the usual 50/34t and 52/36t options. After a few months of testing, eTap AXS has surpassed my expectations. Both SRAM Red eTap AXS and Shimano Dura-Ace are performance groupsets, both are each brand's top-end products and both are used by the pro racers on the international stage. Thats an example of real substance whereas much of their lineup is pure marketing. The smaller articulation angle between the chain links as they pass over an 11-tooth sprocket should also lead to lower friction, although SRAM claims that the 12-speed Red eTap with a 10-tooth sprocket is as efficient as its previous generation 11-speed system with an 11-tooth smallest sprocket.

Sram Rival eTap AXS groupset review: Does budget electric shifting Theres a limit as to how fast you can move the chain from one cog to the next and still have it engage the teeth properly, and the multi-shift (holding down the shifter to run up or down multiple cogs at a time) is already pushing that limit. SRAM revolutionised groupsets four years ago with its wireless eTap system. The difference between Shimano and Sram is that SRAM accepts compromise in order to innovate. The fact that the rings are machined together is a huge issue to me. Rival cassettes feature a different construction. SRAM says that it's engineered its chainrings to up their longevity by 50% over its older 11-speed groupsets. You can slow it down via the app if it's too fast for you. Now, a more affordable little brother has joined the AXS family. So, the short answer is, it didnt feel any faster, but I liked the speed of the original eTap (and this new one) just fine. The Red eTap AXS 10-33 cassette weighs 215g. The levers offer two ports per side for SRAMs accessory blips, which allow you to change gear anywhere you like on the handlebars.
